The idea for Denton Christian Preschool (DCP) was born when several community leaders recognized the need for a high-quality preschool program that was also affordable for the families in Southeast Denton.
How We Started
DCP began with a commitment to giving all children, regardless of and family income, equal educational opportunities. We first opened our doors at the former Fred Moore Day Nursery and have continued to grow ever since.
Where Our Name Comes From
While our name comes from our beginnings in local Denton churches, DCP is and has always been a non-sectarian preschool welcoming families of all backgrounds, faiths, and walks of life.

Our program’s facility is shared by Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Denton. We are grateful for their continued hospitality and their commitment to our students and their families.

How We Get Every Child Ready
Development
Age-appropriate learning activities in a warm, play-based setting.
Our mission is to make sure every child is fully prepared for kindergarten. We do this by focusing on five areas of a child’s development:
Transportation
Safe, dependable bus service to and from school, based on need.
Nutrition
Healthy homemade breakfast, lunch, and a snack made daily in our DCP kitchen.
Wellness
Diagnostic screenings—including medical, dental, and speech—accompanied by referrals and parent support.
When these five components come together, children leave DCP ready to succeed and families leave DCP feeling supported and empowered.
Community
Monthly gatherings where families come together to learn and grow as a community.
